Autumn news – and an invitation

If you live in or near London, we would like to invite you to come to our HQ for an Open Day on the 15th September between 10:30 am and 4 pm.  Voluntary Drug Educators will be available to demonstrate our interactive drug education (the kind we do from stands in town centres and exhibitions).  If that isn’t enough of a draw, there will be refreshments as well as an opportunity to meet our lovely staff.

Tragedy of 1 in 500 babies born drug-dependent

Recent headlines indicate that the use of addictive drugs like heroin by pregnant women transfers the addiction to the unborn child.  Babies born drug dependent need special care and suffer withdrawal symptoms as they are weaned off the drug.

The Wolds 20Andy running 2

Andy says: “I am going to be running a 20 mile cross country event in the rolling Wolds of East Yorkshire. When I say cross country I mean it is seriously hilly in parts, a real challenge. I completed it last year in 4 hours and have every intention of doing it quicker this year.I am running in support of Hope UK, the drugs education charity that I am a part of and does fantastic work with young people, and adults, in helping people grow up drug free.”
