Project Worker appointed in Northern Ireland
Nicola Molloy of Co Armagh was appointed as Hope UK’s Local Project Worker in February 2011. Her role involves recruiting a team of at least ten voluntary Drug Educators in the area and telling statutory and other voluntary groups about how Hope UK can work with them to help prevent drug and alcohol-related harm to children and young people.
Last year we appointed a Project Worker in Sheffield, using money given to Hope UK by Hope UK Sheffield when it wound up its operations. Hazel Moore’s task is to recruit ten volunteers from Sheffield and the surrounding area who can all be trained together to become Drug Educators in their own communities.
Seventeen voluntary Drug Educators are available to provide drug awareness sessions for children, young people, parents and youth and church workers.
Hope UK Local Representative in Cornwall: Clare Vincent (c.vincent@hopeuk.org)
Hope UK is developing its drug awareness and training work in Cornwall while supporting four other trained Drug Educators in other parts of the South West. Clare Vincent, already a trained voluntary Hope UK Drug Educator, began work in July 2007 with the remit of not only carrying out drug and alcohol awareness sessions, but recruiting, helping to train, and supporting new Voluntary Drug Educators in the county.
