Hopeuk.org/church

christian basisWelcome to the part of Hope UK’s website which highlights the role that Christian organisations can play in the prevention of alcohol and drug-related harm as well as providing care for those who have problems.

How to use this site:

Programme offers ideas for worship and activities with children, young people, parents and other adults. These can help a local church reach out to its surrounding community. There are also links to organisations like Care for the Family for their Drug Proof Your Kids® programme.

Pastoral offers vital support for leaders and others who are faced with the needs of people with alcohol and other drug problems – or cries for help from parents and others who are living with drug users.

Dealing with Drug Use provides helpful background information together with options for requesting prayer. There are also links to training options and Hope UK’s Knowledge and Theology Hubs. Leaders as well as others will benefit from the information held here.

Resources highlights the training opportunities available as well as perspectives on the relationship between theology and action about alcohol and other drugs. The thirst for life alcohol awareness campaign started by Hope UK and Share Jesus International can be accessed here.

There will be an on-line Directory of Christian-based organisations that provide counselling and treatment services.  While this is under construction, contact us for information.

This part of the site is designed to enable individuals and their organisations to find out about the Christian-based provision that is on offer within the UK. Hope UK wants to stress that there are other providers within the statutory and voluntary sectors who provide excellent help, and information about finding them is located in Useful Links .

The test applied for inclusion in the Directory is that the organisations listed must be members of either a Churches Together network or the Evangelical Alliance – either directly or by means of their membership of an umbrella body, eg, national denominational group. Hope UK takes no responsibility for the information supplied by organisations that will be listed on this site. Hope UK advises careful consideration so as to assess which organisation offers the best service to meet a particular need.
