Drink and drug-related problems are not only found outside the Church.  They may often be well hidden and Christians struggling with addiction may be in a state of denial. 

Church members may have family or friends with addiction issues that they want to help.

Occasionally people with addictions wander into a local church seeking help with the consequences, if not the cause, of chaotic lifestyles.
