Hope UK

This part of the site aims to provide a growing collection of opinion and reference to published material. Drugs, drink and Christian teaching offers a Biblical perspective on counselling, treatment and prevention.

Alcohol and Christians offers a brief perspective on the only drug use that has been controversial for the Church.

• Writing a Church Policy will help focus on what needs to be done and provide a framework to measure progress. This contains a sample policy that has been written with action in mind – don’t write a policy if it is only going to be words and not action.

• The Church Action Plan should be considered when writing a policy.

Drug Education isn’t Rocket Science is an article that appeared in the Summer issue of ACT Now, the journal of the Association of Christian Teachers.

A Call to Action has been written by one of Hope UK’s Trustees for consideration by Christians.hub

Book reviews will contain a short review and reference to Christian books that Hope UK staff and Educators find helpful.

Publications may also be submitted for review by contacting Marolin Watson. Any such publication needs to be currently available within the UK and will require some form of endorsement that it falls within the faith parameters of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland or the Evangelical Alliance would accept. Publications also need to be relevant to alcohol and other drug issues. Hope UK reserves the right to determine which publications are reviewed.
